Hello members of this forum, I have been strugling for the past few days with this topic. I'm trying to build a bootable USB drive to get my new machines into WIN PE so I can map network drives and use ghost to image them. I have followed several tutorials, and have done much reading. Along with over 25 hours combined of trial and error, starting over and looking over where I have made mistakes. I am no professional, I am a complete rookie when it comes to these things, but I'm trying my best.

I understand coming here looking for help without trying yourself first/reading through FAQ and other topics is frowned upon, and believe me I'm at my last with this. Here is what I am. I have downloaded the zip containing WinBuilder and the latest project for Win7PE_SE that has the 080 and 082 versions inside (I have tried using both versions). It was extracted to the C drive.

It sits in C: winbuilder. Now I am primarily following the guide on irongeek, that comes recommended in the thread where you download this zip file from and have followed each step to the T. The part with copying files over from WAIK, I have done that and have also tried without that, as I see this particular Win7PE_SE Project zip file contains those files in the respective directories. Tv9 30 Minutes Programs on this page.

The only part I have avoided is the driver part, because I cannot torrent at my place of employment. (I'll get those packs at home and bring them in however I do not believe that to be my issue as to I had projects complete before) Upon going through all the steps, and hitting the play button 20 seconds into it I get this error 'Wim file information missing.

A problem occurred to Get Image Information with WimUtil!!!! Before, when I had a successful run, in 082, the project would finalize without the driver integration and the build would complete however upon trying to load in the virtual box I would get 0xc00000f Could not boot because boot file isn't accessible. I'm seriously lost. I hope the attached LOG helps. I used a different format of making a boot USB, using the command prompt and using PStart and QDir but I ran into an issue there as well trying to get it to map a network dive. I honestly DO NOT know what to do now, and desperately need help. Anything would be immensely appreciated, thank you in advance.

Hi Erock, 'Wim file info missing' error so far happens with 'modified' sources, There is 'List of Official Windows 7 ISO from Digital River' Button on main screen of Win7PESE, try one of them. If you have a source from MS resulting with wim info missing, let us know which one??, Than JFX and ChrisR would figure out + Not sure from your log, be sure you use 'big blue button', therefore if error occurs, a log package (log_.7z) automatically created so you can provide easly (no need.doc, as Galapo mentioned.doc is not good at all) + Also a Tip, At 'Main Configuration' there is 'Create Support Log' button, which creates a packed log at everybuild. @ChrisR An idea is: [WimInfoMissing] Message,'Wim file information missing. A problem occurred to Get Image Information with%WimToolsInfo%!!!#$x#$xExiting.'

A problem occurred to Get Image Information with%WimToolsInfo%. -- Tips:-1) Try using official MS sources-(Check 'List of Official Windows 7 ISO' button at main screen) Exiting.' Hi Erock, There are a lot of problem when reading directly from a CD, although indicated as possible in main configuration. It is much more reliable to copy your Windows 7 in a folder of your hard drive (as your first try) but not in a user folder (eg D: Win7.). Can you manually try the following command (changes folders) to see what happens manually: in your D: Win7PE_SE win7 Tools Win7PE_SE x64 WimUtil.exe /Info 'D: Win7 sources install.wim' 'D: Win7PE_SE win7 Tools Win7PE_SE x64 TESTWimInfo.ini' /ini (normally it should create TESTWimInfo.ini file with wim information) or also try the script GimageX in Utils folder of project, button Launch then choose the Tab 'Info.
