My motherboard is the, with which I've had absolutely no problems so far (and have had it for about a year now), and I'm running 64-bit Windows 7. However, I can't seem to get a wireless PCI card to work. The first one I tried was an older one, the Level One WNC-0500. My device manager knew it was there, and even automatically installed some RALink drivers. But the device manager also displayed a yellow exclamation point next to it, and the software that was installed to use the card said that the card was not there.

So I bought a newer one, the Zonet ZEW1642s, which says that it's Windows 7 compatible, and reviews on Newegg said that others were able to simply plug it in and use it. But I'm having the same problem as before - device manager knows it's there, but displays a yellow exclamation point, and the RALink software cannot detect the card.

Does anyone know why else this could be? Someone pointed out that the card I have is only compatible with a PCI 2. Web Dershane Program Programs. x slot, not the older 1.x ones - but the instruction manual for my mobo says that it is PCI 2.1 compliant.

Ugh, this is such an idiotic problem to have. Sorry it will take so long to explain it. I bought a Zonet ZEW2500P USB Wireless B/G adapter from Newegg because it has outstanding ratings and is often reported as Windows 7 64-bit compatible. It works fine on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop (doesn't need it but I was testing). It works fine on my brother's Windows 7 64-bit desktop.
